Shift Information
This position typically requires working 4 ten-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. At least one on-call shift is required per week. Work schedules may vary based on staffing and operational needs.
Minimum Years of Experience
3 years of experience in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Certifications and Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in MRI or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification
Job Description
The Imaging Specialist IV MRI position is responsible for independently performing clinical diagnostic MRI exams following department protocols. This role requires ARRT (MR) or AMRIT certification, as well as a minimum of two years of independent MRI experience. Familiarity with GE MRI systems and EPIC is preferred.
Education
Successful completion of an accredited program in MRI resulting in a certificate or associate degree, or equivalent, or completion of ARRT advanced registry in MRI.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience as an MRI technologist, demonstrating proficiency in performing clinical diagnostic MRI procedures utilizing standard or modified imaging techniques as per physician's orders, protocols, and quality standards.
Certification
Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MR (advanced qualification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging) or a current American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) certification is required. BLS certification must be obtained within six months of employment.
Licensure
While not required, a current state license in any radiologic imaging modality is highly desired.
Additional Information
Shifts may vary by need. This position may involve rotating shifts, including work on weekends and holidays, as well as standby and callback duties.
