Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Orthopedics to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients during their recovery from orthopedic procedures and surgeries.
Schedule
- Shift: 3x12 Hour Days (07:00 - 19:30)
- Weekend Coverage: Every 3rd weekend
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing orthopedic surgeries, including joint replacements and spinal surgery.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate care plans and interventions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient recovery and well-being.
- Assist with the preparation and care of peripheral nerve block catheters and surgical drains.
- Float between Orthopedic and MedSurg units as required.
Patient Population
The nurse will primarily work with patients experiencing:
- Joint replacements
- Spinal surgery
- Orthopedic trauma
- Hand trauma
- Fractures
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med Surg Orthopedics required.
- Completion of at least one travel assignment preferred.
- Experience with orthopedic nursing practices, including peripheral nerve block catheters and total joint replacements.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Additional Requirements
This position requires compliance with annual flu vaccination policies.
