Job Description

The Cath Lab Technician is an integral member of the Invasive Cardiovascular Services Department. This role involves assisting the physician in various capacities, including as a scrub assistant, procedure circulator, and recording technician. The technician will also engage in learning and assisting with both invasive and non-invasive cardiac testing, developing a thorough understanding of all equipment and procedures relevant to the care of cardiac patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
• Function as a scrub assistant and procedure circulator.
• Maintain accurate records during procedures.
• Participate in both invasive and non-invasive cardiac testing.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of all equipment and procedures utilized in cardiac care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or Surgical Technology.
• Registered or licensed as a Radiologic Technologist, Cardiovascular Technologist, or Certified Surgical Technician.
• Previous Cath Lab experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of sterile surgical techniques is required.
• If hired as a Radiologic Technologist for the EP Lab, must obtain RCES certification within two years of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.

Work Schedule

This position follows a day schedule of 5 days per week, with availability for on-call assignments as required. Weekend work is only necessary when on call.

Additional Information

Local candidates will not be accepted for this position, and any pending licenses will not be considered. The technician will not float to other departments outside of their scope to meet facility needs.
