Position Overview

The role involves providing high-quality nursing care within a medical-surgical unit. The nurse will work responsibly as part of a team, ensuring patient safety and delivering patient-centered care across various conditions.

• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: 36 hours (every other weekend)
• Call Requirements: Not applicable
• Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred, plus travel experience
• Float Requirements: Yes

Education & Certifications Required

• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS (ALS preferred), PALS (preferred)
• Education Modules: LMS modules assigned as required

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 45
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights
• Equipment: Plum pumps, Pyxis, Ascom phones, bladder scanner, ECG machine, Phillips Cardiac Monitor
• EMR: EPIC

Hiring Profile

• Must Have Skills/Experience: Patient-focused, organized, BLS, ACLS, IV skills, telemetry monitoring, and required documentation.
• Preferred Skillset/Experience: PALS (not mandatory for travelers on MSU).
• Type of Patients: Medical-surgical including orthopedic, general surgery, and urology. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, and PNA. Pediatric patients are also admitted, requiring PALS certification for care.
• Personality Fit: Positive, professional, and a team player.

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Any solid color, as long as they are clean and in good repair.
• Unacceptable Attire: Hoodies and Crocs or any shoes with holes or open toes.
