Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a 21-bed Renal Medical-Surgical unit focused on caring for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, post-dialysis needs, and complex medical-surgical conditions. This high-acuity unit manages a diverse patient population requiring continuous monitoring, frequent assessments, and multidisciplinary coordination. The ideal candidate will excel in managing renal-related complications and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high patient turnover.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult renal and medical-surgical patients.
• Manage patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and post-dialysis needs.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry.
• Collaborate with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Float as needed within scope to similar Med-Surg units, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license.
• Current BLS certification.
• A minimum of 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience, with renal experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips.
• Competency test required on Day 1; a failure will result in immediate contract termination.
• Epic EMR proficiency is mandatory; lack of proficiency will result in immediate termination.

Additional Details

• No on-call requirement.
• Must demonstrate adaptability, efficiency, and strong critical thinking in a high-volume setting.
• Epic proficiency must be clearly documented in submission.

Shift Information

This position requires working nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including coverage on weekends and holidays as needed.
