Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working primarily with adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with various medical-surgical and telemetry needs.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing necessary interventions based on clinical judgment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on health management and promote overall wellness.
• Document care activities accurately and in a timely manner in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Assist in the management of patients recovering from surgical procedures and those under observation for longer than 24 hours.
• Participate in unit-based activities and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current Maryland state nursing license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit preferred.
• Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with patients and families.

Work Schedule

This position requires a 3x12 hour schedule, working day shifts from 08:00 to 20:30. Candidates must be available to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Unit Details

The nursing unit operates with an average daily census of 18 patients and a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio. This mixed unit addresses a variety of diagnoses and includes general medical-surgical and telemetry cases.

Additional Requirements

• Floating may be required within the specialty and across sister facilities.
• Scrub color: Navy.
