Unit Description
Join a 65-bed Emergency Department that features a pod-based structure, including a separate pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area.
Job Overview
This position requires a focus on emergency nursing, specifically targeting a diverse patient population with various medical needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience is required.
- General ED nursing skills including but not limited to:
- Patient Assessment
- Documentation
- IV insertion and management
- Phlebotomy
- EKG and Cardiac Monitoring
- Point of Care Testing
- Splinting
- Critical Thinking
- Patient Education
Work Environment
- Clinician to Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Average Census: 230 visits/day
- EMR (Charting System): EPIC – ASAP
- Floating Required: Yes, to the ED Observation wing (16 beds) and Acute Mental Health Unit (ED Psych OBs)
Shift Requirements
Rotating shifts are required, with the possibility of working day or night shifts as requested. Night positions do not rotate.
Certifications
- AHA Certified BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred
