Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to provide exceptional patient care in an outpatient setting. This role is essential for assessing and treating patients, developing rehabilitation plans, and facilitating optimal recovery and mobility.
Schedule and Hours
- Full-Time: 40 hours per week
- Shift Options:
- 5x8s: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 4x10s: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Call: None
- Weekend Requirement: None
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years required, with travel experience
- EPIC experience preferred
- License: North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy license required
- Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
Position Specific Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care assessment and treatment, including:
- Performing initial evaluations and ongoing assessments to determine patient deficits.
- Developing and documenting rehabilitation plans of care based on evaluation results.
- Reviewing medical records and collaborating with physicians to determine the appropriate physical therapy interventions.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records, documenting progress, and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Facilitate excellent customer service by:
- Educating patients and families on treatment procedures and home exercises.
- Training caregivers in meeting the needs of patients during and after therapy.
- Monitoring co-workers and promoting a collaborative environment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide integrated patient care, including:
- Providing clinical education for students and team members.
- Supervising physical therapist assistants and supporting workload as needed.
- Participating in interdisciplinary training and orientation for new staff.
- Maintain professional development by:
- Engaging in continuous quality improvement activities.
- Participating in continuing education to stay current with best practices.
Patient Interaction
The role emphasizes one-on-one therapy sessions, with a patient schedule allowing for one patient per hour, and is focused on maximizing patient outcomes through individualized care. Adaptations and modifications to treatment plans and environments will be necessary to promote functional mobility for each patient.
