Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 1 year of experience to join our dedicated team in the MS/Tele unit specializing in orthopedic care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills and a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Scheduling Details
- Shift Hours: Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, totaling 6 weekend shifts
- Call Off Policy: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Accepts First-Time Travelers: Yes
- Locals Accepted: Radius rule applies; please refer to submittal instructions for criteria
Charting Requirements
- Charting System: 1 year of EPIC experience is required
- Pending License: Not accepted; must have an active SC or multistate license
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
Clinical Skills
Candidates must have experience in orthopedic nursing. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care for patients in the orthopedic spine unit
- Managing patient diagnoses such as Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac issues, and common complications
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Supporting integrated pain management and rehabilitation
Unit Details
- Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
- Unit Characteristics: 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries, including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
- Special Procedures: Bedside lumbar puncture, post-Cath care, post-surgical monitoring, post-renal biopsy, and administration of Heparin drips
Floating Policy
While efforts will be made to keep staff within their home unit, the agency staff may be required to float to other units or campuses as necessary. Floating will be limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies.
