Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment providing critical care to a diverse patient population.

Unit Description

The Emergency Department consists of a 65-bed pod-based layout, including a separate pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and documentation.
• Administer IV therapy and conduct phlebotomy procedures.
• Interpret EKGs and monitor cardiac activity.
• Conduct point of care testing and provide patient education.
• Implement splinting and other emergency care techniques.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to manage patient care effectively.

Patient Population

Care will be provided to a wide range of patients, including children and adults, with an average census of approximately 230 visits per day.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience required.
• Must possess general ED nursing skills.
• EMR experience with EPIC – ASAP preferred.
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• NRP and TNCC certifications strongly preferred.

Work Schedule

This position requires 36 or 48 hours per week, with night shifts and rotating shifts when needed. Weekend and holiday work is required.

Additional Information

• Floating to the ED Observation wing and Acute Mental Health Unit may be required.
• Free on-site parking is available for all staff members.
