Description
The X-Ray Technologist position involves the accurate application of ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. The role requires expertise in performing various technical procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic radiographs while minimizing radiation exposure to patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Radiographic Procedures: Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures utilizing precise application of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
- Patient Positioning: Position patients and equipment accurately to effectively demonstrate the area being examined, demonstrating extensive anatomical positioning skills.
- Radiation Protection: Ensure appropriate radiation protection for patients and staff during exposures, adhering to prescribed safety standards.
- Exposure Adjustment: Adjust technical factors independently to provide suitable exposure, utilizing judgment, knowledge of human anatomy, and understanding of disease effects on radiographs, as well as proficiency with all radiologic equipment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of X-Ray experience.
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Skills checklist related to specialty, current within the last year.
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
Schedule
This position follows a Monday to Friday schedule, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with a guaranteed 40-hour work week and no weekend or holiday requirements.
