Position Information:

• Department: Float Pool
• Number of Openings: 1
• Shift Options: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 48
• Weekend Commitment: 75% of weekends required
• Years of Experience Required: 3 years in ICU, 1 year in travel nursing

Position Overview:

The role requires floating to various intensive care units (ICUs), including Medical ICU (MICU), Cardiac ICU (CICU), Surgical ICU (SICU), and Neuro ICU. The candidate must be capable of providing care for basic ICU patients, including those who are sedated, intubated, or on pressors, without taking on high complexity cases, such as Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), unless they possess the necessary competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment.
• Float between different ICU units based on operational needs and staff assignments.
• Maintain patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:2 in ICU and 1:3 in Intermediate Care Unit (IMC).
• Utilize medical equipment such as Impella, Balloon Pumps, and External Ventricular Drains (EVD).
• Document patient information and treatment plans accurately using the EPIC electronic medical records system.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an ICU setting.
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments and patient needs.
