This position requires an experienced surgical technologist to provide support in the Operating Room. As a Certified Surgical Technologist, the individual will demonstrate knowledge of various surgical procedures, ensure sterile environments, and assist the surgical team by anticipating their needs during operations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Surgical Knowledge: Exhibit understanding of surgical procedures and effectively problem-solve as related to the specific surgeries being performed. Verify items on the physician preference card to maintain accuracy in patient care and billing.
• Equipment and Supply Management: Ensure the proper assembly and functioning of all surgical instruments, equipment, and disposables. Maintain, clean, and sterilize all necessary tools for surgical procedures.
• Maintain Sterile Environment: Oversee and monitor the sterile field, promptly recognizing and addressing any breaches in technique.
• Setup Sterile Field: Efficiently prepare and set up the sterile field, ensuring timely access to all required instruments and maintaining accurate counts of medications, sponges, instruments, and sharps.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Level 2 trauma experience.
• Proficient in orthopedic, vascular, neurological, general/gyn, and urological procedures.
• Recent travel work experience is highly preferred.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Active NBSTSA certification.

Shift Requirements

• 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM
• 36 hours guaranteed per week with three 12-hour shifts.
• On-call responsibilities include 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month.
