Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team for a 13-week contract. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care in a fast-paced emergency department setting, managing a wide range of patient diagnoses and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients of all ages in the emergency department.
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatment and medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to enhance patient care.
- Adhere to emergency department protocols and guidelines.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
Shift Information
This position offers a night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30) with a 36 or 48 hours per week option. Weekend and holiday shifts are required every other weekend and as needed.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid RN license in the state of Maryland.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI are required.
- A minimum of 2 years of emergency department experience is preferred; however, candidates with 1 year of experience or first-time travelers with strong ER skills may be considered.
Patient Care Environment
The emergency department averages a daily census of 130 patients with a total of 47 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, ensuring adequate attention to each patient's needs in a high-adrenaline environment serving a diverse population.
Additional Information
- Floating to other areas within the specialty is required as per departmental needs.
- No pre-scheduled on-call duties are required.
