Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical First Assistant with cardiac experience for an exciting opportunity in the operating room. The ideal candidate will be proficient in vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting and able to handle 5-6 cardiac/thoracic cases per day.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team in cardiac and thoracic procedures.
• Participate in patient care during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
• Manage surgical instruments and assist with sterile setup.
• Contribute to patient safety by maintaining a sterile environment.
• Participate in on-call duties as required.

Shifts

The position offers flexibility in scheduling, with options for either 4x10 hour shifts or 3x12 hour shifts. Call duties will also include weekday and weekend responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in surgical first assisting, specifically in cardiac procedures.
• Proficiency in vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting techniques.
• Certifications required: NBSTSA, NCCSA, or ABSA. CRNFA certification is not required.
• Ability to float to various areas as needed within the healthcare facility.
• Open to first-time travelers who meet the experience requirements.

Additional Information

• Weekend and call coverage will be required, typically involving one weeknight and one weekend shift.
• Must possess valid state licensure and be open to obtaining it prior to starting.
• 100-mile radius rule applies for candidates' permanent addresses, with some flexibility for candidates located 75-99 miles away.
• Scrubs will be provided during the assignment.
• Guaranteed hours of 80 per two-week period.
• Client cancellation policy allows for one shift cancellation every two weeks without penalty.
