Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. The ideal candidate will possess skills and experience in pediatric and gynecological nursing, with a strong background in critical care and patient recovery management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the recovery phase post-anesthesia.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions, implementing nursing interventions as necessary.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery processes.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Qualifications
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Demonstrated experience with pediatric and gynecological patient populations preferred.
- Must possess dysrhythmia testing certification.
- Active nursing license from any state; Vermont license must be obtained upon acceptance.
- Experience with Cerner EMR technology is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including a ten-hour day or evening shift.
Additional Information
Orientation sessions are conducted biweekly to integrate new staff effectively. Schedule requests will be reviewed and approved at the manager's discretion. Candidates are encouraged to have their own transportation, as public transportation may not be readily accessible.
