About the Position
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will rotate between various locations, providing expertise in both general nuclear medicine and cardiology. This role requires a commitment to excellence in patient care and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Details
- Start Date: 2-3 weeks from offer acceptance
- Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with rotating call requirements
- Weekend Requirement: Call only
- Holiday Requirement: Call only
Responsibilities
- Perform various diagnostic procedures including bone scans, HIDA scans, GI bleeds, lymphoscintigraphy, parathyroid imaging, thyroid uptake, renal scans with Lasix, lung scans, MUGA scans, WBC infection imaging, and MPI stress tests.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards by utilizing radiation badges provided by the agency.
- Participate in the care and management of patients undergoing nuclear medicine procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Qualifications
- Required Experience: Minimum of 3 years in nuclear medicine
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NMTCB(N) or ARRT(N) certification required
- Preferred Certifications: ARRT (CT) certification is a plus, but not required
- Education: Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) preferred
- State License: SCQRSA in Nuclear Medicine and Radiology or Computed Tomography required
Additional Information
- Open to accommodating block schedules; approval required prior to assignment, but not guaranteed.
- Must agree to work rotating between service lines and floating between multiple locations.
- All requests for time off must be included at the time of submission and will be approved based on facility needs.
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June to November), all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams.
Work Environment
This position is within a Level II Trauma, Acute Care Hospital setting, utilizing Epic for charting. The designated scrub color for this role is teal top and black bottom.
