Shift Information

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. No weekends or holidays. No call required.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of less than 1 year of experience preferred.

Certifications/Requirements

• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registration in Ultrasound Technology required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or Radiology Technology.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.

• Ability to exercise independent judgment and possess high technical skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure all ultrasound images are of optimal diagnostic quality for accurate interpretation by radiologists.
• Follow established image criteria for measuring required anatomical information.
• Confirm all images include necessary demographic details and documentation for diagnostic quality.
• Operate diagnostic ultrasound processing and printing equipment to produce quality final images.
• Select appropriate transducers and technical factors to optimize image quality.
• Review physician orders for accuracy prior to examination to ensure correct procedures are performed.
• Document and ensure patient orders and charges are accurate in the Meditech Computer System.
• Coordinate daily scheduling and patient flow to complete exams in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, ensuring the accessibility of assistive devices and compliance with safety policies.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providing instructions in a manner that is respectful and comprehensible.
• Interpret patients' verbal and nonverbal responses to pain and take appropriate actions to alleviate discomfort.
• Be active in ensuring the physical security of patients, particularly children, while adhering to safety procedures.
