Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in cardiac telemetry and be comfortable working in a fast-paced unit that involves monitoring various cardiac conditions.
Required Skills and Certifications
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- NIHSS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Experience in Cardiac Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Intermediate Care (IMC), or Stepdown nursing
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hours (18:45 - 07:15)
- Contract lengths available from 13 to 26 weeks
- Float as needed within units
- Weekend shifts required (5-6 over a 6 week scheduling period)
- Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:5-6
Responsibilities
The Cardiac Telemetry RN will be responsible for the following:
- Monitoring patients with cardiac conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, and Pacemaker/ICD implantations
- Managing pre/post-operative care for cardiac catheterization patients
- Administering and monitoring cardiac drips, including Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, and Diltiazem
- Performing sheath pulls, TR band applications, and Femstop procedures
Orientation and Training
All new staff will undergo a 24-hour orientation to ensure proper training and integration into the unit.
Additional Information
- All contract staff will be expected to participate in Storm and Hurricane Teams as needed.
- Staff may be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters.
- Uniform: Navy scrubs required.
