Job Description

This position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care for patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality nursing services delivered by the nurse or those under their supervision. It entails utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills to assess data effectively and provide care suitable to the physical and developmental needs of the assigned patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Med Surg/Telemetry.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working specifically with stroke patients.
• Willingness to accept Telemetry patients as required.
• Ability to obtain NIHSS Certification within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
• Willingness to complete mRs/SIREN Certification within 48 hours if offered.
• Must be able to pass Basic EKG examination with a score of 85% or higher within 48 hours if offered.
• COVID vaccination is required; no declinations will be accepted.
• No scheduling restrictions; candidates must be open to work the facility’s schedule.
• Prior travel nursing experience is preferred; local candidates are also welcome to apply.

• GBMC cover page (provided if needed).
• Resume with clear explanations for any employment gaps exceeding 30 days.
• One supervisory reference from the last 6 months.
• One supervisory reference from the last 12 months.
• Skills Checklist specific to Med Surg required.
• Valid RN license (verification must be less than 30 days old).
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Proof of COVID vaccination (declinations not accepted).

Certification Requirements

• BLS (AHA) certification.
• NIHSS certification required.

State License Requirements

Active Maryland nursing license is required at the time of submission.
