Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Adult Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at a leading academic center specializing in advanced cardiovascular disease treatment. As a member of our dedicated staff, you will have the opportunity to work with advanced technologies and contribute to patient care in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of echocardiographic examinations, including inpatient and outpatient procedures, bedside echo, stress echo, transesophageal echo (TEE), and procedures in the operating room.
• Demonstrate competency in complex echocardiographic pathology such as hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, regional wall motion abnormalities, aortic stenosis, and valvular defects.
• Evaluate cardiac shunts and administer saline contrast as per established protocols.
• Utilize sonographer-driven contrast administration techniques using agents such as Lumify and Definity.
• Meet productivity requirements of 6-8 studies in an 8-hour day or 8-9 studies in a 10-hour day.
• Participate in biweekly orientations and necessary compliance trainings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in cardiac sonography, with a strong emphasis on complex echo pathology.
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma environment is required.
• Prior experience in a transplant hospital is preferred.
• Academic healthcare experience is required.
• Certification in cardiology ultrasound is required (CCI or RDCS - Adult).
• Left-handed scanning skills are preferred.

Schedule and Shift

• Shifts available in both 8-hour and 10-hour formats, starting at various times based on departmental needs.
• Assignments may involve both inpatient and outpatient locations, as well as varying clinic schedules.
• Call requirements include one week of on-call duty during a 13-week period, including two weekends.
