Registered Nurse (RN) - Psychiatric - Adult

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in psychiatric care for adults. The ideal candidate will contribute to the treatment of individuals 18 years and older in an inpatient setting, providing quality nursing services and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients within a psychiatric unit.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement treatment plans.
• Utilize phlebotomy skills for blood draws as required.
• Respond to patient needs and manage any behavioral issues effectively.
• Monitor and assess patients’ mental and physical health status.
• Document patient care and progress in accordance with established protocols.

Shift and Scheduling

• Full-time night shifts of 8 hours, with flexibility for 36-hour shifts for qualified candidates.
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required as needed.
• Time-off requests must be pre-approved and submitted at the time of application.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current psychiatric nursing experience.
• Current phlebotomy experience is required.
• ACLS and CPI certifications are strongly preferred.
• Experience in small critical access facilities is preferred.
• Candidates must have reliable transportation and a permanent address included in their profile.

Documentation Requirements

• Current Vermont RN license.
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Skills checklists for RN/Psychiatry and Phlebotomy, current within the last year.
• One supervisory reference from the past two years of employment.
