Job Description

This position involves providing psychiatric services in an inpatient setting, focusing on adult patients. The unit comprises a small number of beds to ensure individualized care and attention.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate and competent psychiatric nursing care to adult patients.
• Perform blood draws as needed; phlebotomy experience is required.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to assess and develop patient treatment plans.
• Participate in crisis intervention and management.
• Support patients in their therapeutic goals during their stay.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with facility policies.

Schedule and Requirements

The position typically involves 8-hour night shifts totaling 40 hours per week, with potential flexibility for the right candidate. Weekend and holiday coverage is required, including alternate weekends and specific holiday periods.

Travelers applying for this role must possess a current Vermont RN license along with current ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association. Two years of recent psychiatric nursing experience is essential, combined with documented skills in phlebotomy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of current psychiatric nursing experience.
• Current phlebotomy experience is mandatory.
• ACLS and CPI certifications are strongly preferred.
• Experience working in small critical access facilities is preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation and a permanent address included in the profile.
