Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CVICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Position Details
- Shift: Night (3x12-Hour)
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, with every third weekend required
- Average Daily Census: 1-8 patients
- Staffed Beds/Rooms: 8
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care and management for patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).
- Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and implement critical interventions.
- Assist with the care of ventilated patients, including management of temporary pacemakers and IV insulin protocols.
- Support post-operative cardiac patients (POD 1) and manage fresh heart admissions.
- Assist with chest tube insertion and removal as needed.
- Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as required.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in the CVICU setting.
- Certifications Required: ACLS and BLS.
- Additional Skills Required:
- Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias
- Post Cardiac Surgery care
- Experience with ventilated patients
- Management of temporary and transvenous pacemakers
- IV Insulin Protocols
- Preferred Skills: Experience with lumbar drains.
Work Environment
The CVICU is equipped to handle complex cases, providing exceptional care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures. The unit uses Cerner/Med Connect for charting and Pyxis for medication management, ensuring efficient and accurate patient care processes.
Vaccination Requirement
All employees are required to receive the Flu vaccine to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
