Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (MS RN) to join our team. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, including med-surg and telemetry units. The role requires self-scheduling with balanced scheduling considerations, where travel nurses may be plugged into open shifts as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care to patients in med-surg and telemetry settings.
- Ensure adherence to safety and infection control protocols.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to meet patient needs.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families.
- Participate in self-scheduling while maintaining a balanced approach to staffing.
Shift Details
This position requires 12-hour shifts, with options for day or night schedules:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Flexibility is key as every other weekend and holiday shifts are required. Please note that requests for time off (RTO) cannot be accommodated.
Patient Ratios
- Med-Surg:
- Day Shift (7 AM - 11 PM): 5 patients per nurse
- Night Shift (11 PM - 7 AM): 6 patients per nurse
- Telemetry:
- Day Shift (7 AM - 11 PM): 4 patients per nurse
- Night Shift (11 PM - 7 AM): 5 patients per nurse
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in med-surg or telemetry nursing.
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
