Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care unit. This position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in hospital med-surg units. The Registered Nurse will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

Unit: Acute Care
Number of Beds: 36
Staffing Ratios: RN/LPN (6:1), CNA (12:1)
EMR System: Meditech
Charge Nurse: Yes
Nurse Aides: Yes

Job Requirements

Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Required
Scrub Colors: White tops and hunter green pants
Telemetry: Yes
Nurse's Read Strips: No
Drips: N/A
Vents: N/A
Hospitalist or Intensivist on Site: Yes, Hospitalist available 24/7
IV Team Availability: No; may consult PICC team if needed
Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
Shifts: 12-hour shifts
Floating: Occasionally
Orientation: Floor-specific orientation for 3 shifts

Patient Population

The unit commonly cares for patients with diagnoses including:

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
Pneumonia
Renal Failure
Sickle Cell Crisis
Orthopedic Surgery
Bariatric Surgery
Altered Mental Status (AMS)
Sepsis
