We are seeking a skilled Cath Lab Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care and support during cardiac catheterization procedures. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of cath lab procedures and experience in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Position Overview

As a Cath Lab RN, you will work in a fast-paced setting, performing a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures. Your expertise will ensure optimal patient outcomes while supporting a multidisciplinary team committed to cardiovascular excellence.

Scheduling Details

• Shift hours: 4x10s, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, plus on-call responsibilities.
• Weekend Requirement: On-call responsibilities as per department policies.
• Holiday Requirement: Availability to work or take call for one holiday per 13-week contract, in rotation with staff.

Charting Requirements

Charting will be performed using Epic software, thus familiarity with this system is required.

On-Call Requirements

Each clinician is expected to fulfill a set number of on-call shifts and late shifts within each six-week period. One full weekend of call must be scheduled together, while remaining call shifts can be taken individually. Availability to return to the facility within 30 minutes when called is necessary.

Required Certifications

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Required Clinical Skills

• Proficient in cardiac cath lab procedures, including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temporary pacing, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip.
• Experience as a scrub nurse in sterile techniques.
• Ability to place EKG leads, recognize and interpret dysrhythmias, and perform hemodynamic monitoring.
• Knowledge of rapid response protocols and equipment handling.
• Experience with diagnostic and interventional cath lab procedures using fluoroscopy, as well as isolation precautions and supply management.

Unit Information

Our cath lab serves adult patients and consists of six procedure rooms with a daily census ranging from 15 to 20 patients. Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and closures for atrial septal defects/patent foramen ovale. Advanced procedures include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, and thrombectomy, among others.
