Job Details
This position involves providing high-quality imaging in an Interventional Radiology setting, ensuring optimal clarity for physician diagnosis while minimizing patient discomfort and radiation exposure. The role includes working with sophisticated specialized equipment and adherence to safety and infection control policies.
Shift Information
- Shifts: 8 or 10 hours, Monday through Friday
- Call requirements: Includes after-hours and weekend coverage
Responsibilities
- Ensure the operation of interventional equipment to provide high-quality imaging for various procedures.
- Conduct vascular angiograms, biopsies, drainages, tube placements, injections, paracentesis, thoracentesis, thrombectomy, embolizations, endovascular procedures, and central line placements.
- Minimize patient recovery time and implement life support measures when necessary.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of patients’ physical and emotional statuses while maintaining sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Exhibit extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, medical terminology, and operative terms.
- Adapt to changes and facilitate new processes as needed.
- Participate in the educational processes of Radiologic Technology students.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Tech.
- Required certifications: ARRT, BLS (AHA), and NDMIRT or willingness to obtain.
- Competency in advanced interventional radiology procedures including strokes, MMAs, pipelines, coilings, vasospasms, EVD placement, AVMs, carotid stents, and rhizotomy.
- Ability to float between multiple locations within the region as needed.
- Familiarity with EPIC charting, Radiant, Cupid, PACS, and Accudose is preferred.
Orientation and Training
Training will include a thorough orientation program lasting two weeks, with the possibility of reduced orientation time for validated prior experience.
Additional Information
All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility and will be provided with scrubs in Ceil Blue color. A background check through the appropriate licensing office is required for NDMIRT certification, which typically takes less than two weeks if all documentation is submitted correctly.
Candidates must be able to work flexibly and take after-hour call as necessary.
