Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Telemetry unit. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients with various cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate will have experience in telemetry nursing and the ability to manage patients with cardiac arrhythmias and other critical conditions.
Job Details
- Ratios: 1:6
- Average Daily Census: 23
- Shift: 12 hours, Night shift 18:45 - 07:15
- Work Schedule: 36 or 48 hours/week available; 13-week length or longer contracts accepted through 2/27
- Weekend Requirement: 8 weekend shifts
- Floating: Required
Patient Diagnoses
- Cardiac Arrhythmias
- Myocardial Infarction (MI)
- Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS)
- Uncontrolled Diabetes
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Heart Failure
- Post Heart Catheterization
- Post Pacemaker Placement (PPM)
- Post Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD)
- Cardiac drips (no titrating for blood pressure)
Qualifications
- Minimum Experience: 2 years of nursing experience preferred
- Traveler Experience: First-time travelers accepted, with stepdown experience preferred
- Required Skills:
- IV Start and Telemetry
- Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias
- Must have cardiac telemetry experience
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Teamwork: Strong emphasis on collaborative work as there are no charge nurses on the unit
Orientation
The role includes a 3-day orientation, starting with Epic training on the first day followed by two days on the unit.
Dress Code
Scrubs must be navy or white.
Additional Information
An EKG competency test will be required prior to starting in this specialty.
