Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in Cardiac Telemetry to join our dynamic team. This position requires a minimum of two years of experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in step-down or telemetry units. First-time travelers with relevant experience are welcome to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, recognizing and managing dysrhythmias.
- Administer treatments for patients with cardiac conditions, including those with arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, and heart failure.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Float to other units as required, ensuring adaptability to various patient needs.
- Maintain efficient communication through SBAR and document patient care accurately using EPIC.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience in a cardiac telemetry or step-down unit.
- Experience with IV starts and management of cardiac drips.
- Must possess current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications.
- Successful completion of EKG testing prior to starting the position.
Unit Details
- Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6, with an average daily census of 23.
- Shifts available: 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
- A minimum of 8 weekend shifts required during the contract period.
- Orientation consists of three days: the first day for EPIC training and the subsequent two days on the unit.
Work Environment
This is a teamwork-oriented unit, and quality nurses who can maintain the same patient ratios as other units are essential. No charge nurses are present, ensuring that every team member has a shared responsibility for patient care.
Dress Code
Scrubs must be navy or white.
