Description

Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for an assignment with a flexible schedule of either 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts during weekdays and weekends. The position is available for a contract duration of 13 weeks, with the potential for extension.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care in a medical surgical setting.
Monitor patient conditions and administer treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Educate patients and families about health conditions and post-discharge care.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical surgical setting.
Basic Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required.

Additional Information

The nurse-to-patient ratio will be maintained at 1:5-7. While a blocked schedule cannot be guaranteed, the unit will make every effort to accommodate traveler preferences.

Scrubs will not be provided, and familiarity with Cerner EMR is preferred.
