Position Overview

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in a psychiatric unit. The RN will care for individuals with various mental health challenges and will work closely with support staff to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to manage challenging patient behaviors.

Shift Information

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week
• Shift Times:
  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and professional nursing care to psychiatric patients.
• Conduct safety checks, room assessments, and monitor patient vitals.
• Administer medications and document patient progress and behavior.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Ensure proper documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Participate in orientation and training sessions for unit procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience is required.
• Current certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • CPI or PMCS certification prior to start date is required.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Additional Information

• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend is required.
• Holiday Requirements: Will need to work at least 2-3 holidays per year.
• Floating Requirements: Assigned to float within adult and children's psychiatric units.
• Orientation: 3 days on the unit, including floating orientation.
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue.
