Shift Information
- 3x12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Rotating weekends
- Floating required among multiple locations within the region
- Call required on Sunday nights only
Patient Population
The patient population includes individuals with:
- End-stage renal disease
- Acute kidney injury
- Metabolic imbalances
- Dialysis access issues
- Drug overdoses requiring hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis treatments
Patients are acutely ill and may present with various medical-surgical or critical care diagnoses.
The apheresis patient population consists of individuals with a range of neurologic, renal, or hematologic/oncologic diseases.
Department Overview
The Hemodialysis Department operates 24/7, providing hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis treatments around the clock.
- The department features 9 bays and 1 isolation room for patients known to have Hepatitis B, equipped for telemetry monitoring.
- Nursing care is delivered by registered nurses with the support of certified hemodialysis technicians and a nursing secretary.
- Cardiac monitoring is managed by hemodialysis nurses for patients on telemetry or those requiring close surveillance during treatments.
- The average length of stay for hemodialysis/apheresis patients is approximately 4-5 hours.
- Treatments for hemodynamically unstable patients located in the ICU are conducted in the patient's room, with a nurse present at the bedside.
- Peritoneal dialysis is performed in the patient’s room as well.

Qualifications
Candidates should hold a valid Registered Nurse license and have experience or special training in dialysis nursing. Strong clinical and communication skills are essential for this role.
