Description
This is a float pool position. The candidate must be willing to float to multiple different units. Acute care hospital experience is required.
Job Details
- Role: RN
- Specialty: Med/Surg Tele – IMC (floating to all Medical, Surgical, and Cardiology units)
- Number of Openings: Varies
- Shift: Day shift from 0700 – 1930
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 48
- Weekend Hours: 36 (varies based on unit needs)
- Call Requirements: None
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of inpatient hospital experience preferred, Level 1 Trauma experience required, and 1 year of travel experience is mandatory.
- Float Requirements: Must float every shift
Education & Certifications
- Required Certifications:
- Valid RN License (State of Maine)
- BLS Required
- ACLS Preferred
- Education Modules: Assigned by the Education Department during onboarding
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: Varies based on the unit floated to – smallest unit has 15 beds, largest has 40+ beds
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4 on days (possibility of 1:5 when stretched) and 1:5 on nights (possibility of 1:6 when stretched)
- Equipment: Abbott Plum Pumps
- EMR: EPIC
Qualifications
- Must Have Skills/Experience:
- 2 years of Level 1 Trauma acute hospital experience
- Ability to read & interpret telemetry strips
- Preferred Skillset/Experience: Minimum 1 year of travel assignments; 2 years of experience preferred
- Type of Patients on Unit: Varies based on unit floated to
- Personality Fit: Flexibility is essential
Dress Code
- Scrub Color: Any color, provided it is clean and professionally appropriate
- Unacceptable Attire: Jeans, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, or shoes with holes (such as Crocs)
Additional Information
- Minimum 1 year of travel or prior Float Pool experience is preferred and required for success. Level 1 Trauma experience in a 500-bed facility or larger is necessary.
