Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg Tele/IMC Float Pool

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to take on a role in the Med/Surg Tele/IMC Float Pool. The ideal candidate will be trained to float between Med/Surg units and Intermediate Care (IMC) units, managing patient care with varying needs while adhering to established nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care to patients in both Med/Surg and IMC units.
• Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and trauma.
• Maintain patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:4 to 1:6, ensuring effective communication and patient safety.
• Float between units as required, adapting to different patient populations and team dynamics.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an IMC unit.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Recent Med/Surg Tele experience is necessary.

Additional Requirements

• Flu shot and 2-step PPD test required.
• Candidates must have recent experience with EPIC electronic health records.

Shift Information

This position requires availability for night shifts, working 4x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00.
