Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will provide assessment, therapeutic intervention, and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders or associated complications. This role includes providing care in various settings, including intensive care units and emergency rooms.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct respiratory therapy assessments and protocols.
- Perform arterial punctures and blood gas analysis.
- Manage ventilator and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) therapy.
- Deliver medications and airway clearance techniques.
- Assist with intubations and bedside tracheostomy placements.
- Participate in bedside bronchoscopy, tracheostomy changes, decannulation, and extubations.
- Engage in emergency response teams and ICU rounds.
- Facilitate patient intrahospital transport.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience.
- Experience in Level 1 trauma and ICU settings; ER experience preferred.
- Experience working in a facility with 300+ beds.
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC.
- North Dakota state license or willingness to apply for it within 72 hours of offer acceptance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will work with various equipment, including but not limited to:
- Epic EMR
- Hamilton G5 & C1 Ventilators
- V60 Ventilation Systems
- Philips CoughAssist
- ResMed AutoPAPs
- Nitric Oxide Therapy Equipment
Shift Requirements
This position involves rotating shifts, with a schedule that includes 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and holidays. Opportunities to work extra shifts are available as needed.
Training and Orientation
New hires will complete lab orientation with enhanced educational support and preceptor shifts to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
Additional Information
The ideal candidate will be motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing rapid changes in patient conditions. Effective communication with the healthcare team is essential.
