Shift Information
Hours are from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with four 10-hour shifts per week. Weekend coverage is approximately 3 days per month, typically every other full weekend, with occasional two weekends off in a row.
Role Responsibilities
- Treat an estimated 8 to 10 patients per day with support from 5 to 7 therapists.
- Evaluate and treat adult acute care patients.
- Provide discharge recommendations and communicate safe mobility plans to the interdisciplinary team.
- Common patient diagnoses include neurological conditions (CVA, MS, Parkinson's, Guillain-Barre syndrome), general medical issues, orthopedic concerns (total joints and fractures), cardiac conditions (pacemakers), and oncology-related needs.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience as a licensed therapist is required (experience in acute rehab is not sufficient).
- Must possess strong evaluation and treatment skills for adult acute care patients.
- First-time travelers are welcome.
Additional Information
- EMR System: EPIC
- The facility has a manager present on each shift.
- No COTAs are staffed, but there are 2 Rehab Aides available.
- Travelers should expect at least 2 days of onboarding with an experienced staff OT preceptor during the first week.
- Travelers generally do not work on holidays unless there is a staffing need.
- Dress code allows for any color scrubs or business casual attire.
Orientation
There will be two shifts dedicated to unit-specific orientation.
Note
This position has a radius rule of 50 miles for candidates' permanent addresses.
