Description
Position Overview
This role is based within a locked incarcerated unit of a hospital, requiring candidates to be comfortable working with the prison population. Additionally, there may be a necessity to float to other Medical/Surgical/Telemetry units, including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially ICU settings.
Certifications Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification (Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) is accepted in lieu of CPI)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
- Local candidates will be accepted at the same rate as travelers.
Holiday Coverage
For contracts beginning in September, Registered Nurses will be expected to participate in holiday rotations and work three of the following six holidays, depending on their assigned group:
- Thanksgiving
- Black Friday
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
- New Year's Eve
- New Year's Day
Nurses may arrange schedule swaps with peers when possible to accommodate personal preferences.
Shift Details
The position requires working day shifts, specifically 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00. Please note that block scheduling is not offered.
