We are seeking a dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide exceptional surgical patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients before, during, and after surgery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Create and maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment.
• Provide pre and post-operative education to patients and their families.
• Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical process.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care across the surgical continuum.

Patient Population

This position will involve caring for pediatric to adult patients, with the opportunity to work across various surgical specialties, excluding cardiac and ophthalmology.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of current Operating Room experience is required.
• Experience in vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotic surgery, urology, and ENT preferred.
• Travel nursing experience is required.
• Proficient in using the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required.
• Experience in both scrub and circulating roles is essential.
• A valid New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate must be provided.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Working Conditions

This role typically operates from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with no weekend shifts required. Candidates may be requested to be on-call once per month if needed. Orientation is a non-billable 8-hour session prior to commencement.

Additional Information

COVID vaccinations are encouraged, but not required for this position. All new and returning agency staff must complete specific training prior to onboarding.

Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. If this requirement cannot be met, alternative roles may need to be considered.
