Shift Information

This position requires 12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, totaling 36 hours per week. The candidate must also be prepared to cover additional shifts or holidays if necessary.

Job Description

The Certified Surgical Tech (CST) will play a crucial role in the operating room, supporting the surgical team by ensuring a sterile environment and assisting during various surgical procedures. Proficiency in a wide range of surgical specialties is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the sterile field during procedures.
• Assist surgeons and other healthcare staff during surgeries.
• Prepare surgical instruments and equipment.
• Ensure that necessary supplies are available prior to and during surgical procedures.
• Conduct pre-operative and post-operative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years current experience as a Certified Surgical Tech (CST).
• Proficiency in the following surgical specialties:
  • General Surgery
  • Gynecology
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Thoracic Surgery
  • Orthopedic Surgery, including total joints
  • Neurosurgery (head and spine)
  • Trauma Surgery
• Ability to precept and mentor junior staff.
• Experience in C-sections, ENT, Plastics, and DaVinci Robot preferred.
• Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required.
• BLS certification from AHA is required.
• Experience with Meditech Expanse is strongly preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and personal vehicle for transportation.

Additional Information

Scheduling requests must be specified at the time of submission, as blocks or shift accommodations will not be available for this position. Please note that the selected candidate must be willing to work during major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s, as needed.
