Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in a cardiac telemetry environment. This role involves managing continuous IV medications and caring for adult to geriatric patients with a variety of health conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin.
• Manage diuretics such as Bumex and Lasix.
• Provide anticoagulant therapies including Aggrastat, Argatroban, and Heparin.
• Oversee insulin drip management.
• Monitor and care for patients with arrhythmias, including stable A-Fib, SVT, and bradycardia.
• Perform cardioversion and manage patients with cardiac CHF and chest pain.
• Provide care for renal and pulmonary conditions, including COPD and pulmonary edema.
• Handle post-surgical patients, including those following cholecystectomy and appendectomy.
• Manage occasionally vascular patients and assist in DKA as needed.
• Provide care for overflow orthopedic or CVA patients when required.
• Utilize Epic and SBAR for documentation and communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Experience managing continuous IV medications is essential.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.

Work Environment

The nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1:5-6 within a 32-bed unit. The position requires flexibility to float within the facility as needed, maintaining adherence to the scope of practice.

Scheduling and Holidays

• Night shifts of 3x12 hours are available, typically from 19:00 to 07:00.
• Traveler nurses are expected to work on major holidays as assigned, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
• Perm staff are scheduled first, with travelers filling in gaps as necessary.
• Maximum 7 days of RTO allowed per contract.

Compliance

Full compliance with required documentation and certifications is necessary to start on time. Any compliance delays may extend the start date by two weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.
