Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our NICU team. This position is ideal for professionals with experience in pediatric critical care and a strong skill set in respiratory therapy.

Position Overview

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the NICU will be responsible for providing respiratory therapy services to neonates and ensuring high-quality care. The average daily census is between 6 to 10 ventilators, requiring an experienced clinician capable of managing complex cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory care and therapeutic interventions to neonatal patients.
• Perform routine arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpretation.
• Manage endotracheal and nasal airway placements, including suctioning techniques.
• Provide pulmonary toileting and airway clearance as necessary.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a NICU or pediatric critical care setting.
• Current NM State license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP.
• Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Ability to float to adult RRT units as needed.

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekend shifts as needed. Travelers should expect to work no more than three consecutive weekends to support unit needs. A commitment to working two out of three holiday bundles is mandatory.

Additional Information

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week, with the possibility of being called off a maximum of three times during a 13-week assignment.
• Parking: No fee for parking.
• Charting System: Cerner.
