We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to join our inpatient team. This position involves providing evaluations, diagnostic testing, and treatment for patients with speech and language disorders. The ideal candidate will work as part of a collaborative healthcare team, primarily focusing on geriatric patients while also having opportunities to engage younger clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute, swing, and outpatient care to patients.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations, set goals, and plan treatment based on medical referrals and patient assessments.
• Administer modified barium swallow studies and swallow therapy.
• Utilize standard treatments for aphasia, voice disorders, cognitive therapy, and other speech-related therapies.
• Assist patients in reaching their maximum performance and functioning levels.
• Communicate findings and treatment plans effectively with the healthcare team.
• Provide discharge recommendations, exercise programs, and patient/family education as needed.
• Document accurately and timely in patient records, adhering to departmental policies.
• Monitor and assess patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Engage in professional interactions with patients and their families, addressing psychosocial and cultural needs.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the work environment and operate therapeutic equipment correctly.
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance patient care and ensure performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology.
• At least 2 years of recent experience in speech-language pathology.
• Experience with outpatient, inpatient, and rehabilitation patient care.
• Proficiency in working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
• Familiarity with rehabilitation equipment, including communication aids and mobility devices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Certification in LSVT LOUD is a plus.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
