Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in a dynamic healthcare environment. This position requires a commitment to patient care across multiple facilities in the region.
Shift Details
- Schedule: 3x12-Hour Shifts
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Rotation: Every other week
Holiday Requirements
All travelers must work one of the winter holidays, which include:
- Thanksgiving or Black Friday
- Christmas Eve or Christmas Day
- New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care to a diverse array of patients, including but not limited to:
- Patients with acute and chronic respiratory illnesses
- Post-operative care for general surgery and gynecological procedures
- Post-operative care for total knee and hip replacements
- Orthopedic patients
- Management of acute and chronic pain
- Conditions such as active GI bleeding, CHF, pulmonary edema, and diabetes (both hyperglycemic and hypoglycemic conditions)
- Renal failure and drug overdose cases
- Patients experiencing clinical withdrawal or suicidal tendencies
- Patients with arrhythmias and those undergoing radioactive therapy
- Stable COVID-19 patients
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required
- Experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry care is essential
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and NIH Stroke Scale certifications preferred
- Ability to float between multiple facilities as necessary
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Patient Care Skills
The candidate should be skilled in administering various IV medication drips, including but not limited to:
- Heparin
- Total Nutritional Assessment (TNA)
