Description
The Adolescent Psych Registered Nurse (RN) is a key member of the Patient Care Team, responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process across all unit areas. This role includes delegating interventions appropriate for other team members, supervising as needed, and ensuring a safe environment for effective nursing care. Additionally, the RN will provide education to patients and families, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals in the planning and management of care.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to formulate and manage care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and recovery processes.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for both patients and staff.
- Assist in the training and supervision of nursing staff and other team members.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Maine is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are mandatory.
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience required; experience with children and adolescents preferred.
- Basic Dysrhythmia training is preferred or must be obtained before completion of orientation.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training is preferred or must be obtained before completion of orientation.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a responsible and supportive team player.
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations.
