Description
We are seeking a dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative setting.
Position Details
- Shift: 4x10 Hours, Days (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- On-call Requirement: Yes, up to 4 call shifts every 4 weeks
- Weekend Requirement: Up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks
- Holidays: Required to work at least one holiday period, including Christmas (Dec. 24 - Dec. 26) and New Year’s (Dec. 31 - Jan. 1)
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers are accepted
- License: Current RN license in South Carolina or a Multi-State/Compact RN license
- Certifications: BLS certification required; Radiation badge provided by the agency
- Trauma Level Experience: Experience in a Level 1 Trauma center preferred
- Scrub Experience: Experience as a scrub nurse is highly desired
About the Position
The main operating room consists of 21 OR suites covering various surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics. The nursing team is composed of 75% Registered Nurses and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists, with RNs trained to scrub and circulate surgical procedures. This is a Magnet-designated department that emphasizes nurse-driven initiatives and utilizes cutting-edge technology.
Miscellaneous Information
- Parking: A $20 registration fee is required for a hang tag to access the parking garage. Additional fees may apply if parking outside designated areas.
- Emergency Response: During hurricane season (June - November), all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. Please consider this when planning assignments.
