Shift Information

Anticipated schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, Night shifts (6 PM to 6 AM)

Job Description

This is a temporary position for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) working on night shifts. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a medical-surgical environment, catering to a diverse patient population, including post-partum neonates to geriatric patients. Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering direct and indirect patient care in various medical and surgical settings.
• Managing patients with high acuity, rehabilitative needs, and pediatrics.
• Expanding skills into post-partum care, infusion, and wound therapies.
• Potential cross-training opportunities in the Emergency Department and/or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).

Minimum Requirements

• Current, unencumbered RN license valid in Utah or a compact state.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• 1-2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Willingness to earn NRP certification and deliver patient care appropriate to this certification within one year of hire.
• Strong knowledge of infection control principles and patient safety protocols.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills to adapt in rapidly changing situations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Professionalism in managing sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
• Composure in stressful situations and emotional maturity.
• Reliability and punctuality with scheduling.
• Flexibility to accept additional duties as needed.
