Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional respiratory care in a dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to patient outcomes.
Position Information
- Role: RRT Respiratory Therapist
- Shift: 7 AM - 7:30 PM and 7 PM - 7:30 AM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Scheduling Expectations: Includes working every other weekend and participating in the call rotation (approximately one call shift per month, or as required).
Responsibilities
The Registered Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for:
- Providing respiratory therapy treatments and services to a diverse patient population.
- Collaborating with medical staff in assessing and implementing respiratory care plans.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress and response to treatments using the EMR system.
- Floating to various units, including NICU, PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and adult acute/critical care as needed.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a tertiary or teaching hospital setting, preferably in a Level 1 trauma environment.
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for NICU
- RRT credential required
- Education: Relevant educational modules and training may be required.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, team-oriented, and adaptable to changing patient needs.
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: Varied, covering the entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs.
- Patient Ratios: Acute care 1:25, Critical care 1:8.
- Equipment Used: Ventilators including Drager V500, VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm.
- EMR System: EPIC

Additional Information
The work schedule is determined based on the operational needs of the department. While reasonable scheduling preferences may be considered, only approved time off documented in the contract is guaranteed. The facility cannot ensure additional schedule requests, specific shifts, weekends off, or time off outside of the approved contractual time off.
