Position Summary
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist I (MRI Tech I) provides healthcare services by assisting in diagnosis or treatment. This role involves performing MRI procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. The MRI Technologist operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies, modifying technical settings and adjusting scanning parameters to enhance image quality while minimizing unnecessary exposure.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalent
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certified MRI Technician certification
- Previous MRI experience
Essential Job Functions
- Perform MRI exams and procedures as requested by medical staff.
- Assist Radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures.
- Carry out ancillary duties to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures.
- Document all required information for accurate interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
- Retrieve prior images, studies, written orders, and related health information to ensure timely performance and reporting of MRI exams and procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on the scanner and archive imaging data.
- Participate in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of hospital quality indicators as described in the strategic plan.

- Demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment with limited supervision.
- Exhibit creativity, problem analysis, and decision-making skills.
- Exercise tact, discretion, and sensitivity while maintaining confidentiality.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and standard office equipment.
- Self-directed with the ability to complete assignments accurately and thoroughly with minimal oversight.
Schedule Requirements
This role requires regular and sustained attendance. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
Shift Information
Full-time position with a schedule of 4 shifts of 10 hours each from Monday through Friday, with starting times as early as 6:00 a.m. and ending times as late as 7:00 p.m.
Holiday Coverage
Holiday coverage is required for this position.
Experience
A minimum of two years of experience is required.
Certifications / Requirements
