Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for an inpatient unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, particularly in level 1 trauma and telemetry, to provide high-quality care to patients recovering from surgery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide postoperative care to patients in the PACU.
• Monitor patient vital signs and assess recovery progress.
• Administer medications and manage pain control as per protocols.
• Assist with preoperative and postoperative procedures in accordance with facility policies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records using Cerner charting system.
• Participate in training and continuing education activities to keep skills current.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on level 1 trauma and telemetry.
• Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
• Ability to float to the Holding area in the PACU department when required, with patient ratios of 1:3-5.
• Ability to work overnight call shifts on a monthly basis, as needed.
• Pending licensure acceptable; must obtain full licensure prior to start date.
• Must be able to commit to working two out of three holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the following day, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to a day schedule of 4x12-hour shifts. Weekend availability is expected for at least one weekend per month.

• 36 guaranteed hours per week with potential for call-offs.
• No local candidates within 100 miles are accepted.
• Requests for time off exceeding 7 days must receive prior approval.
